Stephenie Meyer interview with ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY

EW: Is Midnight Sun still dead to you, or can you see finishing and publishing it in the future?
STEPHENIE MEYER: "It's really complicated, because everyone now is in the driver's seat, where they can make judgment calls. ''Well, I think this should happen, I think she should do this.'' I do not feel alone with the manuscript. And I cannot write when I don't feel alone. So my goal is to go for, like, I don't know, two years without ever hearing the words Midnight Sun. And once I'm pretty sure that everyone's forgotten about it, I think I'll be able to get to the place where I'm alone with it again. Then I'll be able to sneak in and work on it again."

**so what do we do now? i LOVE midnight sun so much and i really REALLY want it to be finished, but shouldn't we follow what Meyer said? it least give her some time? it's sad that we have to wait, and i'm no patient person. but it's better to wait than not have it at all, right?

I have been reading Midnigt Sun having just discoverd it on this site a couple days ago. I think it may even be a little bit better then Twilight. But before anyone comes to hurt me, it would not be as good if Twilight did not exist as a comparison with all the background reading of the four books. I found this on the stephanie meyer site I hope it come true!

"June 2008 Update: In response to the outrageous number of emails that I have received with questions concerning Midnight Sun, I talked to Stephenie this weekend and she asked me to let everyone know that Midnight Sun is her next project. She has not yet finished writing it (and there is no timeline set up, so we all need to put a lot of effort into being patient for a while longer), but she is definitely still planning on having it published. And, after Breaking Dawn comes out, Stephenie will have much more time to focus on writing Midnight Sun."

Breaking Dawn has been released and so has her other book The Host! So I think we are in good shape to getting this book, we probably wont have any nails left by then. But just think how bad it was for the dudes who have been fans since Twilights release and had to wait for every book. They must be nervous wreks! (I know I would be.) : s
