New Moon Script 2
Howdy and Helloooo to all you Twilighters!!! I am LizAO and I have decided to make my own adaptation of New Moon for you all to read. I am hoping that this will aid those of you unfamiliar with the film industries codes and conventions, and help you to understand the difficulties a screenwriter has to face when ask to adapt a book. Please leave any comments about the script in the thread. I am open to praise and hostility, constructive criticism is always welcome as is questions. I know allot of people will be upset over missing material and I will explain myself for this in the thread. I hope you enjoy. Oh and please do not edit anything I do spend allot of time on this, tis not easy. Any who, I hope you like and hopefully I will be updating it regularly!!! Have a fantabulous day!!!! : D
SCENE ONE EXT: VENICE DAY BLANK SCREEN.
A clock TICKING can be heard, heavy BREATHING is sluggish over the TICKING.
A SIZZLING sun is high in the sky.
A clock face.
AIR escapes from BELLA’S mouth.
ECU BELLA is looking directly into camera . All we see is her face. She is moving in slow motion and is having trouble getting forward. The camera does not leave her face we cannot see what she is going towards or fighting through. All the while the clock still TICKS and the BREATHING is heavy and raspy.
BELLA (V.O) CONT. My legs seemed to move slower and slower as I fought my way through the callous crowd, but the hands on the clock tower didn’t slow. With relentless, uncaring force, they turned inexorably toward the end- the end of everything.
CUT TO: BLANK SCREEN
A BONG of a clock chimes……..
SCENE TWO. INT: NON DESCRIPT ROOM/ DAY
BELLA stands facing an OLD LADY they are wearing the same white clothes. The scene is in extreme HIGH KEY lighting. They smile identical smiles at each other. A blurred figure comes to BELLA. EDWARD wraps his arm around BELLA.
A gilded frame appears around the OLD LADY.
BELLA reaches out to touch the mirror.
The OLD LADY does the same.
EDWARD kisses BELLA on her forehead.
CUT TO: INT BELLA’S BEDROOM MORNING.
BELLA sits bolt upright in bed. Her face is in ECU.
BELLA (V.O) Just a dream, only a dream.
An ugly ALARM sound startles BELLA and she whacks her hand down on to it hard. She turns to get out of bed with her head in her hands.
BELLA stretches and goes about her room gathering clothes and takes a shower.
BELLA opens up a mirror cabinet and places the toothpaste inside.
BELLA slams the door shut and looks in the mirror.
BELLA turns and leaves the bathroom. Her reflection leaving can be seen as the room is left empty.
BELLA (V.O) CONT. I skipped breakfast, in a hurry to get out…. I wasn’t able to avoid CHARLIE.

BELLA (V.O) : I felt like I was trapped in one of those terrifying nightmares….
A clock face.
BELLA (V.O) CONT. The one where you have to run,Run till your lungs burst….
AIR escapes from BELLA’S mouth.
BELLA (V.O) CONT. But you can’t make your bodyMove fast enough.…

The OLD LADIES arm is out at a weird angle. A gilded frame appears around the OLD LADY.
BELLA reaches out to touch the mirror.
The OLD LADY does the same.
EDWARD kisses BELLA on her forehead.
EDWARD: Happy birthday BELLA
BELLA sits bolt upright in bed. Her face is in ECU.
BELLA (V.O) Just a dream, only a dream.

BELLA (V.O) CONT.I’d dreamed of this day for months. All through the perfect summer- the happiest summer I ever had…. This bleak date had lurked in ambush…
BELLA opens up a mirror cabinet and places the toothpaste inside.
BELLA (V.O) CONT. I could feel it…
BELLA (V.O) CONT. I was older everyday I got older….
BELLA turns and leaves the bathroom. Her reflection leaving can be seen as the room is left empty.
BELLA (V.O) CONT.But this was worse, quantifiable…. I was eighteen…. And EDWARD never would be.
CUT TO: INT KITCHEN DAY
BELLA begrudging takes a gift from CHARLIE. She smiles but her face is pained. CHARLIE lightly taps her arm.
BELLA (V.O) CONT. I skipped breakfast, in a hurry to get out…. I wasn’t able to avoid CHARLIE.
BELLA’S hands begin to remove the wrapping.
BELLA (V.O) CONT. I honestly tried to be excited about the gifts I asked him not to get me…
BELLA holds a camera in her hands. She smiles painfully at CHARLIE and thanks him.
BELLA (V.O) CONT. But every time I smiled it felt like I was going to cry….
SCENE 3 EXT: FORKS HIGH SCHOOL CAR PARK- DAY

Hello everybody!!!
as i mentioned on a thread a while back i have written my own version of a new moon screenplay. hopefully i will have finished it by the time the film comes out....... : ( please click on the tag above to read and leave me comments in this thread about what you think... i should be making updates regularly to the script.. so far i have completed two scenes..... thank you for reading!!! : ) |
